Global Center for Health Security | Puerto Rico | Nebraska Videographer

Being a Nebraska Videographer doesn’t mean that I just get to do work in Nebraska. Most of the time, but not always. Sometimes I get to follow the good people of Nebraska to other places, this time in Puerto Rico where I traveled with the excellent team of doctors and students from the Global Center for Health Security.  This group, primarily Infectious Disease healthcare providers, is doing some exciting research with an isolation tent for patients with infection diseases.  They took the tent to Puerto Rico to test and train in tropical weather. Man, the heat is no joke and I’ve never sweated so much in my life but I got some great footage. I was excited to be a part of a just an important initiative, one that could really make a difference in the treatment and preventative of spread of high level infectious disease like Ebola.  It was very cool to see the team of doctors and students do their scientific data collection and training in the ISTARI.  I had some time to snap a few photos of the team.

Memory Stitch | Omaha Testimonial Videos | thinkMOTION

The great thing about Omaha testimonial videos is that they can be so short, but so effective…especially if you have a whole series of them.  What a great time we had with Memory Stitch in creating this testimonial video for them.  As modern day consumers,  we are so accustomed to seeing the hundreds of reviews online for a product that we want to purchase.  Maybe I’m biased because, well, I make videos for a living but I sometimes wish that I can see the people making the reviews. When done right, an Omaha testimonial videos can be just as effective as a commercial for your product or a company. Real life people experiencing your real product, what can be better really?   We had the pleasure of creating this very short testimonial for Memory Stitch, a company that makes blankets out of your old t-shirts. As I was filming this I was laminating at all the t-shirts that I threw away over the years. Depeche Mode t-shirts…the Cure, Velvet Underground, Looney Tunes.  Memory Stitch could have forever made them immortal.  This mother and son did a great job, even when I asked them to do silly things with the blanket for b-roll. They did so great that it took forever to get all the gems they said about these blankets in just one minute. But…mission accomplished. I hope more companies see the value in these types of videos. They are so immediate and sincere that’s hard not to think twice before tossing those old blankets.  It would be hard for any customers not to see the value of a company or a company when the right testimonial video tells the story. Nothing fancy. Just…truth.

To get Omaha professional headshots you actually don’t have a colored background but, well, we have those too and those are great!  We’ve gotten many distinctive and professional looks on gray or white backgrounds that we can bring to you. But if your office is cool and you want that to be highlighted like this one where we took photos in a skwalk…let’s do it!  Our whole goal in giving you the best Omaha professional headshots is that we want to make your employees comfortable. 100%. And we have a way of disarming even the most skeptical of photo taker without having to resort in taking out squeaky toys.  For this shoot, the company was giving their summer interns a chance to shine and get professional headshots (okay, one isn’t an intern…see if you can find her).  It probably wasn’t a far stretch in mentioning that these interns probably remember very recently picture day in high school!  We kept it light, spontaneous, and relaxed.  I’m always amazed as a photographer that I can literally spend five minutes with someone and can immediately sense their personality and adjust to know how to take a photo of them that will capture their essence.  And why have a professional headshot? I think that Forbe’s website had it perfect where it was written, ‘Corporate headshots can build trust among clients.’ It’s completely true.  Trust in the company and trust in you. But more specifically, YOU!  Not some artificial you…but the part of you that will make the company great! The most affordable headshots are the times like this when we set out a window of time and we get as many as we can…hopefully everyone in the company wants one. Such a great time with these interns and we wish them all the best!!!

Omaha film production | Dakota Pure | thinkMOTION

Last summer we took our Omaha film production on the road. We took a beautiful journey to Mission, South Dakota and spent the day with Dakota Pure.  It was truly inspiring to be among the many hundred bison as they galloped across the prairie.  We had a chance to spend the day with Scott with Dakota Pure who told us about the history of the family operation.  This video is a small highlight of just bison, because their so freakin’ cool.  And not only do they raise bison, distribute it and sell it online but they also have organic crops. Such beautiful land, such majestic creatures. In preparation of filming bison, I had read a little bit about the plight of the bison…being a midwestern I was ashamed I didn’t know more.  One thing I thought was interesting is that part of the dust bowl, during the Great Depression, was caused by the lack of bison.  So much of the prairie’s soil was made rich by the bison’s hooves aerating the ground, however, after America armies killed the buffalo as a punishment to the Native Americans, the soil was left to itself and the dust bowls prevailed.  I was so honored to be surrounded by hundreds of these magnificent creatures and even though they are being raised for food, so proud that operations like Dakota Pure are actually helping to bring back the bison! So happy to take Omaha film production across the plains to see the prairie come to life.

Omaha Family Photographer | thinkMOTION

I love it when I can put my video camera down for a bit and be an omaha family photographer.  So many great experiences getting to know beautiful families such as this.  As I was driving out to the Loess Hills to take these family photos my heart sank as the clouds rolled in and the rain came down.  I pulled up into the farm and the family was gathered underneath a canopy on the barn.  We made quick work of it. They would run out when it wasn’t pouring too much and a friend of the family held an umbrella over me as I took the photos. It all worked out and we had tons of fun. What’s the saying, ‘turning lemons into lemonade’? As it turned out, the family was so happy to capture everyone together!  Could we have used more sun, sure, sure. Even when the conditions aren’t perfect, it just makes being an omaha family photographer more challenging and fun! I was reminded again why family photos are so important, because they bring your family together. They create joy and in some circumstances can bring comfort and healing. Family dynamics changes…spouses change and loved ones pass away but when you do family photos regularly, the family legacy can be preserved.

Arizona Corporate Event | Omaha Event Photography

Omaha event photography doesn’t actually have to happen in Omaha! In fact, this Omaha based company took a conference to Arizona! Though it was strictly business there was plenty of time for team building exercises and conversations whether in a raft or over drinks.  After the conference each team member that attended received a bounded photo book with the photos in it so they could remember the trip. A business souvenir! Such a great idea and it’s why this company is one of the best places to work for in Omaha.  Whether you’re having a local event or destination, omaha event photography is the perfect way to promote your company culture either externally on your blog or social media platform or internally was well.

Omaha artist videos | On Rays of Time | Amy Westover |

If you’re really looking, art is everywhere in Omaha, and Omaha artist videos are ways to capture the beauty and grandeur of these pieces.  I would say that our video work is 80% filming people but every once in awhile I get the chance to spend time with a piece of work like On Rays of Time by Idaho artist, Amy Westover.  It’s home is in the Buffett Cancer Center on the University of Nebraska Medical Center Campus.  It’s one of those pieces that if you’re just walking to the elevators you may not think to take a look but, man, when you do it causes you to pause and reflect.  I loved just sitting with this piece for awhile. Seeing how the light hit it, how people interacted with it. Such a tranquil time.  I filmed it in the morning and came back later when the sun was going down and man, what a difference the light makes. At morning it was still, peaceful and at night, when the rays shoot through it, it’s triumphant and epic!  So great to work with Amy and my friends at the Healing Arts at UNMC.
